A garage door is a system, and the parts wear at different rates. The components we repair and replace most often are:
Springs and cables.

Openers fail electrically, mechanically, or simply from age. Sometimes it’s a worn drive gear, sometimes it’s the logic board, and sometimes it’s just a remote that needs recoding or a new battery. The unglamorous hardware that keeps everything running straight and quiet. Worn rollers and loose hinges are behind most of the grinding and banging noises people ring us about, and they’re usually a quick, inexpensive fix — if you catch them before they damage something more expensive.

The most expensive garage door repairs we do usually started as cheap ones. A door that’s slightly out of balance makes the motor work harder every single cycle until the motor burns out. A worn roller chews at the track until the track needs replacing too. A fraying cable holds on for months, then lets go all at once.

It depends on the fault — a roller replacement is a very different job to a new motor. What we can promise is a free on-site quote before any work starts, so you’ll always know the price first. Fixing faults early is nearly always cheaper than waiting.
Can you repair the door the same day?
Usually, yes. The van carries the most commonly needed parts, so the majority of repairs are completed in a single visit. If your door is stuck open or unsafe, tell Rod when you call and we’ll treat it as an emergency.
Should I try to fix it myself?
Lubricating hinges and replacing a remote battery — go for it. Anything involving springs, cables or door tension — please don’t. These components store enough energy to cause serious injury, and they’re the reason this trade exists.
